Questions investors ask about Payment Stablecoins
Buying PYUSD: common questions
How do I buy PYUSD?
In the PayPal or Venmo app (KYC there), on exchanges, or on a DEX with a self-custody wallet (no KYC). Minting and redeeming with Paxos needs an institutional account. The token runs on Ethereum / Solana / Arbitrum (+16).
Do I need KYC to buy PYUSD?
Not on the secondary market: PYUSD can be bought on a DEX without identity verification. Minting it directly with the issuer does require KYC.
Can I buy PYUSD in the EU?
Not from a regulated provider. PYUSD is not authorised under MiCA, so EU-regulated exchanges and brokers may not sell it to EU customers. Holding it is not prohibited, and you can still swap into it on a DEX from your own wallet. Issued by Paxos from the US, not by its EU entity; EU platforms such as Bitstamp removed it for MiCA.
